The Gift

(Insert Jack Bauer voiceover)

"The following takes place between the hours of 7 pm and 8 pm on Monday, December 1st"

Oh heaven forbid - I just realized that I got a package from my sister on Saturday. I had decided to wait and open it on Sunday. We now know how that day went...

So - I opened the box after retrieving it and OMG - how does one react to a gift like this? I am "like wow" and "OMG".

Here is the card - this is so funny as I showed my son (tv mounter) and he agreed - she has forgotten what we (they) are like. LOL

Now to the gift.

WOW!

Even more amazing - the USPS didn’t leave a mark on it.

The new tv...

So how did this monster get here? Had to be some freak of nature...

Or possibly that my husband had gone on and on and on about the burn in spot on our 'old' 57" huge floor tv. To me, it was a 'slight' yellow spot and I never noticed it that much. I'm the type that much like reading, I get into what it is I am watching (or reading) and I just don't see 'that spot' that he kept pointing out.

So on what is suppose to be "my day" (my birthday) turns out to be the day we get a new flat screen tv with a new souround sound. Husband and son (mainly son as he is going for the "I did it myself" on mounting) put the tv up on the wall over the fireplace. Looks good, sound is so-so as the souped up part isn't connected yet.

Now it is today (Monday) and I get a call at the office just before I leave telling me that the boy (who didn't get called for work) has hooked up the sound system. "Hmmmmmmmm" is all I can give it at this point. To be honest, he is as picky as his dad and it will be near perfect, no worries there.

Yup, picture on the wall is good and damn if the sound system doesn't make you look around the room as the THX sound hits. They tossed in several dvd's with different sound starts so I could hear them. I insisted on Twister and boy - I will admit - my skin was crawling (I'm in S. Texas and in San Antonio twisters while rare, can hit).

WOW!!!

Birth of a blog

Welcome to the birth of my first blog.

I had envisioned so much more for my maiden post but as the saying goes:

“The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.”

That is how my day went and the plans for me launching the first post of my first blog.

“Happy Birthday” to my blog & “Happy Birthday” to me – I am 46 yrs old today.
